Everything on this site is a description of what a named public source published, with the date we read it. It is not legal advice, not certification advice, and not a prediction about your file. We publish statements of the form “this state requires X, cited, as of this date”. We never publish “you will be certified”.

The issuing agency is the only authority

Only the relevant state department of education or certification body can decide what your credential is worth in its state. Where our reading and an agency's decision differ, the agency is right. Where a rule is genuinely ambiguous we label it and point you at the agency rather than resolving it for you.

Rules change, and they change fast

In the first three states we researched, two changed materially inside a single quarter. Every fact here carries the date it was read for exactly that reason. A fact more than 120 days old is badged as such. Check the date on the fact before you act on it, and check with the agency before you spend a nonrefundable fee.

No affiliation

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state department of education, the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification, the Council of State Governments, or any testing organisation. Agency names, rule citations and quoted text are reproduced for identification and citation, and remain the property of their publishers.

Limitation

The site and the packs are provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions taken in reliance on them. If a pack is wrong, tell us: we will correct it, date the correction publicly, and refund you.
